Besides performance some systems add something else that is hard to pinpoint, but this 2-1 has it in abundance. The power output is excellent. The sound alone is enough to run shivers down the spine of your opponent, waiting for that green light. Physically a perfect match with stretched bags and/or big wheels, it will absolutely shine on extreme baggers. Works on standard baggers just as well but ground clearance, in right turns, is less than stock. Comes with 1-7/8" full length heat shields covered head pipes, which merge into a 2.25" collector. The muffler has a 2.5" perforated core with a stainless screen that is fiberglass wrapped. Muffler body is 4" O.D. and can be rotated, upwards or downwards, and is finished with a billet aluminum tip. Chr. Comes with stock diameter 1-3/4" diameter tubing with 2-1/2" heat shields and a 24" muffler section. The fishtail version comes with fishtail extensions which give it an additional 6" overall length. 12-17 Softail (excl. 13-17 FXSB Breakout) 558248 Duals 558251 Duals with fishtail tips Bad Hombre Duals 558251 Exhaust blueing Discoloration of an exhaust system, otherwise known as 'blueing', is a heat generated issue. It is not a manufacturing defect, therefore no warranty will be given on any exhaust system that is discolored. Excessive blueing may indicate a mechanical, ignition or fuel problem. Minimizing discoloration is possible by having a well tuned engine, both fuel as ignition wise. Note that a stock Harley-Davidson® cannot be referred to as a 'well tuned engine' due to emission restriction legislation. Contaminations on the chrome plated surface of the exhaust, as oil, wax and such, can induce discoloration, as can longer periods of idling when tuning or in traffic. Some people coat the inside of the headers, when new, with a heat resistant spray paint as a heat insulator, with varying short time results. Several exhaust manufacturers, as Vance & Hines and Cobra, supply exhaust systems with 'full length heat shields' which are nearly invisible to the naked eye. These shields will safeguard rider and passenger from exhaust burns and prevent visible 'blueing'. Wrapping the headers in an 'exhaust wrap' will effectively rule out any 'blueing issues', simply since no chrome is visible. Always remember that blueing is natural process, one that long time riders would smile about when referring to blueing as 'a problem'. tech-tip 19
