Standard or Heavy Duty springs? This has nothing to do with quality but everything with what weight the bike will carry. For a bike usually loaded below 240Lbs./109kg (rider + luggage) the standard springs are the best choice. When the bike is usually loaded over 240Lbs/109kg (like rider + passenger + luggage), the Heavy Duty springs are the better choice. A shock with a Super Heavy Duty spring is available for Tourings that are regularly loaded to over +390Lbs/177kg (like rider + passenger + luggage). Fox IFP shock (good) A basic but otherwise excellent replacement shock absorber. Comes with adjustable manual pre-load only. Fox IFP-R shocks (better) With Manual pre-load and adjustable rebound.
