Many Progressive Suspension shocks are available in a Heavy Duty and some in a Super Duty version. Regular shocks are for bikes that are operated at load rating of upto 250lbs (114kg), Heavy-Duty 250 up to 350lbs (114-159kg), Super Duty over 350lbs (159kg). For riders that find the OEM shocks too soft, switching to stronger springs usually solves stock shock issues. Shocks with too strong springs will give you a harsh ride. Heavy Duty or Super Duty is not better, it's different. Note: Stronger shocks do not increase the load capacity of the bike as designated by the manufacturer. Longer or shorter shocks? Before ordering longer, or shorter, than stock shocks, use common sense. Make sure that your wheel travel does not cause clearance issues between parts like swingarm, axle, exhaust, chain/belt guard, fender etc. Also note that altering ride height may influence front end trail.
