Early S&S conrods come with a 1.500" diameter pressedin style crankpin, from 2013-up S&S conrods uses a 1.671" diameter crankpin, like OEM. Both include the connecting rod bearing assembly. Connecting rods are standard length, center to center 7.668" for 99-06 88" TCA/B and 7.659" for 07-17 96" TCA/B, and machined for .927" stock diameter OEM and S&S wrist pins. Note: From 2013-up S&S decided to use 1.671" diameter crankpins, just like OEM. The S&S connecting rods, with 1.671" crankpins are pressed-in the flywheel and secured with a crankpin end plug which expands the crankpin enough for a very tight fit. Both wristpin as crankpin bearings are replaceable. The connecting rod assemblies come complete with crankpin, nuts and with a 17 roller alloy type cage crankpin bearing set. All S&S connecting rods are a somewhat heavier than stock due to a beefier construction. Flywheel rebalancing is recommended. Rebalancing may be extra work, but S&S decided not to sacrifice rod strength for convenience's sake. All rod lengths are same as stock (7.440" center to center for Big Twin models). *Stock 84-99 Evolution Big Twin wristpin bushing size is .792". For L81-83 and 84-99 Big Twin rods are identical with the exception of the wristpin bore diameter. L81-83 Shovelhead models have a .791" wristpin bushing. 84-99 Evo Big Twins have a .792" wristpin bushing. L81-83 rods can therefore be used in 84-99 Evo applications when the wristpin bushing is reamed to .792".
