Manufactured from 7/16" diameter chromoly tubing for strength and to minimize flex giving a more accurate valve timing with higher RPMs. Allows adjustment between 9.5" and 11.5" for use with both stock and taller cylinders. When removing or installing these will collapse further than regular S&S Quickee type pushrods for even easier installation or removal. Includes installation instructions. 84-99 Evo Big Twin 965286 965286 Pushrod adjusting All solid lifters: *Be sure that the valve you are working on is completely closed and engine is cold. * Turn pushrod adjusting screw until free play is removed. You must be able to turn the pushrod between your fingers with some drag. *Tighten locknut and re-check to ensure that the 'some drag' adjustment is still correct. *Repeat procedure for all remaining pushrods. Stock Shovelhead hydraulic lifters: *Be sure that the valve you are working on is completely closed and engine is cold. *Remove and clean hydraulic lifter so it is free of oil. *Reinstall hydraulic lifter. *Turn pushrod adjusting screw until hydraulic lifter is fully collapsed. *Back off pushrod adjustment screw 1-1/2 turn. *Tighten locknut. *Repeat procedure for all remaining pushrods. Stock 84-99 Evolution hydraulic lifters: *Be sure that the valve you are working on is completely closed and engine is cold. *Turn pushrod adjusting screw until pushrod contacts lifter. * Turn adjusting screw an additional 4 to 4-1/2 turns and tighten locknut. Be sure to allow sufficient time for the lifter to bleed down completely before proceeding with next valve. *Repeat procedure for all remaining pushrods. Evolution hydraulic lifters with the S&S HL2T kit *Be sure that the valve you are working on is completely closed and engine is cold. *Adjust pushrod so the hydraulic unit is fully collapsed. * If hydraulic unit still contains oil, make sure you allow sufficient time for the lifter to bleed down completely before proceeding. * Back off pushrod adjustment until you are able to turn the pushrod between your fingers with some drag. *Back off pushrod adjustment an additional 1/2 turn. *Tighten locknut and re-check to insure that adjustment is still correct. *Repeat procedure for all remaining pushrods.
