Stock Evo B.T. crankcase deck height is 5.375". Mentioned pushrod lengths are based on cases with stock deck height. Some engines, like the 4-1/8" bore S&S Super Sidewinder Plus, are built with crankcases with increased cylinder deck heights (6.000"), which is 0.625" higher than stock. Increased deck height affects cylinder length. To calculate correct pushrod length for a non stock engine with increased deck height you must measure actual cylinder length (gasket to gasket) and add the deck height increase. Note that some high performance cams have a smaller base circle to achieve higher lifts without higher lobes. This makes the use of adjustable pushrods necessary, even with stock cases and cylinders, to compensate for the extra pushrod length required. tech-tip 47 ANDREWS, PUSHRODS Available in chromoly and aluminum. Aluminum is lighter than chromoly and will reduce inertia mass.
