385 HARDWARE & WIRING NEW PRODUCTS ADDED WEEKLY AT MOTORCYCLESTOREHOUSE.COM ATC vs ATO fuses These are the popular 'blade style' fuses that are used in most applications. The difference is that the ATC has a fuse element that is closed inside the housing ('C' in the name). This air-tight seal helps prevent corrosion. The ATO fuse is open ('O' in the name) on the bottom, the fuse element is exposed. Sizes are identical. tech-tip 114 BLADE FUSES (NON-AUTOMATIC RE-SET) BLADE FUSES WITH LED Comes with a built-in LED indicator light that lights-up when the fuse is blown. No more hassle to detect a blown fuse in confined or dark spaces. Super clear, super fast. Ready to replace any stock style ATC, Mini & Maxi blade fuse. Note: It is advised to change all fuses to LED style to fully benefit from the LED dectection functionality. ATC Fuse - with LED 515971 3A. Violet 515972 5A. Tan 515974 7.5A. Brown 515976 10A. The thinner the wire, the more passes are required. A puzzeling logic for the rest of the world, thinking in millimeters. So... check out our AWG to Metric conversion table below! Note: Dimensions are plain wire with insulation removed. Millimeter sizes mentioned are rounded off for convenience sake. To choose the right gauge wire, you will need to know how much Watt (or Amperage) you will draw and what the length of the cable will be. Note: This selection table is based on a 12V system. For 6V systems the Amp. and Watt numbers should be devided in half to find the appropriate wire. Wire gauge Amp. Knowledge about electrics can be important to prevent a meltdown within the electrical wiring of the motorcycle, or to calculate what fuse you will need for your specific application. These are the formulas we learned at school, but forgot all about: Watt divided by Volt = Amp Amp multiplied by Volt = Watt Watt divided by Amp = Volt tech-tip 92
