Back in the mid seventies, when everybody was still thinking points and condensers, they were building reliable electronic ignition systems for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Years ago they started to develop a self contained racing ignition system to fill the needs of the professional Drag-Racers. They have re-developed this racing ignition over and over again until they came up with the Dyna 4000 Superpro. The Dyna 4000 Superpro is a High-Energy Ignition that is designed to meet the demands of the professional Drag-Racer. It has the advantage of the long spark duration of the Inductive ignition system as well as the higher rev capabilities of the capacitive systems. Special trigger plates that work with dual or single systems are available. The Dyna 4000 has lots more features for gas burning Drag-Race Harley's as well as for Nitro Burning Top Fuel Harley's. It allows the use of the handlebar mounted Dyna Digital Remote display. This is a handlebar mounted digital display that enables the racer to change the launch rev limiter on the line, real time rev display that allows testing of all RPM based accessories and has a clutch switch indicator. It uses a magnetic rotor and "Hall Effect" magnetic sensors which are not affected by RPM changes, dirt and/or oil. The Dyna "S" works with a stock or aftermarket mechanical advance unit. It is designed for street, touring or strip and faster setting than points. There are two versions available, the Dual Fire High Performance system which simply replaces the conventional points ignition, and a Single Fire version. Single Fire does not fire both cylinders at the same time, but only the cylinder that is at the end of its compression stroke. This means that the piston which is in the overlap position will not be fired needlessly. Both systems are easy to install without any modification and have a 3 year factory warranty. Both Dual Fire and Single Fire systems fit Sportster models 1971-1979 and Big Twins 1970-1979. Kits can also be installed on 1980 thru 1999 single cam Big Twins and 1980 thru 2003 Sportster when a mechanical advance unit is used. Note: Dyna S ignitions are to be used with 5 ohms coil for street use.
