Using high pressure and temperature, the non-directional grain of aluminum is changed to a high integrity, multidirectional grain structure of a forging. The aluminum remains solid throughout the process as the forging dies come together and change the shape of the wheel. The resulting radial grain direction places the highest material strength in the same direction as the operating loads. The complete forging is CNC Lathe turned, then placed on a CNC mill and sculpted into one of many patterns. PM's finishing department hand polishes each wheel to a mirror like shine or applies a high quality show chrome finish. A limited number of wheel designs is available in Contrast Cut anodized black with raw machined contrasts, or in Contrast Cut "Platinum" finish where the contrasts are polished in the best PM tradition. A very limited number of designs is available in Black OPS finish, Roland Sands' top-secret proprietary two-tone black finish. Wheels with the "IN STOCK" logo' are available from stock in most sizes and for most applications. Note: Due to the variety of PM wheels (over 4.500 models and applications!) these wheels are build upon order. Allow 8 weeks for building and shipping. Note: 6", 7", 8 1/2", 10" and 10 1/2" wide wheels require the use of 2 1/2" inner diameter disc brake rotor, sprocket and/or drive pulley.
