Billet 4 caliper 11.5" single 84-99Blk (TÜV)
Text excerpt from the catalog:
Harrison Engineering was, back in 1986, one of the first companies to design and develop a multi-piston aftermarket caliper for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Each fully progressive 4 or 6 Piston caliper is precisely CNC machined from lightweight blocks of aircraft quality aluminum alloy. To keep the internal tolerances to a minimum, the caliper pistons are machined from special low expansion aluminum alloy and have a hard anodized finish that has the same anti-wear properties as hardened steel. For maximum performance the calipers have one pad for each piston. Harrison claims this gives a more ‘leading edge bite' on the disc than any two pad, or differential bore calipers. It is also especially beneficial in wet conditions, because the first set of pads sweep water off the disc, while the following 2 or 4 pads are still ‘biting' on the disc. That removes the effect of the calipers ‘skating' on the disc, and then braking sharply and suddenly when the disc becomes dry. They are truly progressive calipers, with a direct and sensitive relation between the amount of lever pressure, and the amount of braking power. These show polished or black anodized calipers not only have ultimate stopping power, they also have the ultimate looks, and are available for almost all models. The front calipers bolt straight to the front fork bottom leg, and the rear sets include the mounting bracket. Stainless steel shims, to space the caliper to the disc, and mounting bolts are included with each kit. The front as well as the rear sets are available in both 4 or 6 piston versions, as well as polished or black anodized. Matching design brake rotors can be found elsewhere in this catalogue. All Harrison Billet calipers are approved, and come with a limited lifetime warranty on piston wear.
